We’ve got lots in common where it really counts….

(gotta love Charlotte’s Web)

So. I would like to start featuring a different artist each month. The feature post will consist of a small interview and a few choice images along with links to the artists websites, shops, etc. I feel like I run out of ideas to write about and feel slightly selfish/egocentric using an entire blog to write about what is going on in my life.

I am looking for submissions from different artists of every kind. May has already been taken by artist Kristina Rolander. I plan to have the post up by May 1st. Artists who would like to be featured on my blog either email me or leave a comment. Please include a link to your work.

Really, it all comes down to supporting each other.

Trunkt Portfolio

Just updated my trunkt portfolio with a few new items!

Check it out here!

Snowy, Snowy December.

I live in the midwest and yesterday it started snowing like crazy! My love affair with snow is really limited. I usually think it’s so pretty and great for about the first week. Then it becomes a pain in the ass. Especially when you have to run errands with a 22 month old! Or it takes 2 hours to shovel out your car.

Although as much as I do complain about the snow, I have to admit that it wouldn’t really feel like the Christmas season without it. So in honor of this crazy white stuff, you can receive 10% off anything in my etsy store. This is limited to one discount per household. Just enter “snowy” in the message to seller and wait for a revised invoice.

One more thing!

If you would like to stay in the know even more - you can follow me on twitter! It’s another fun way to find out what people are up to. I have found some really great etsy artists out there through twitter.

Another new print!

Just listed this yesterday in the shop.

Also, I opened up a shop at Artfire. Not sure if it’s a totally wise idea to list items in more than one place but I thought I would give it a try. The items that are crossed listed at Artfire and Etsy are open edition prints and not originals so there is no risk of running out. :) You can check out my Artfire shop here.

Happy Monday to everyone!

Need a graphic designer?

I am working on putting up a website related to my artwork and graphic design. Through the process of gathering material for my site I am realizing that my portfolio is really thin. I have been concentrating on album design alot lately and haven’t had the time to really go out there and pursue projects. Also, I am not exstatic about the stuff that is in my current portfolio. I have a specific direction that I want to go in and a good portion of this work doesn’t really portray direction.

SO…I am running a special of sorts. I hate to call it a sale. Maybe portfolio building special? Anyways, the idea is that I am looking for clients that are interested in working with me for a very, very discounted price. I am talking about charging a ridiculously low fee.

I am looking for people who need postcards, business cards, logo design, brochures, website concept and design, and fliers. I think this is a great opportunity for both parties involved. You get a great design for a great price and I get solid work for my portfolio!

If you are interested please email me and we will discuss the details and if we would be a good match. Of course, check out my etsy shop and anything I have posted here, along with my wedding album design website: Elioso Design. Here you can get a good idea of my style and if you’d like to work with me.

Please feel free to pass this on to anyone you think would be interested!

Changes.

For a while now I have been thinking of separating the wedding album design aspect of my business from the art and design. As of now Leoa Design Studio will only encompass art and design. Elioso Design will be the name of my album design company and my plans are to add a separate blog for this and transfer everything album design related over to that. I am also (still) in the process of creating my websites. Things just seem to take alot longer than I think they will around here. Between actually doing work for clients, painting, raising baby and sometimes sleeping getting my website finished is usually last on the list. It also doesn’t help that I have taken it all on my own - designing and learning dreamweaver as I go along.

In other art related news - I am just about finished with six new paintings that I am very excited about. I can’t wait to show them. I think that I won’t be offering the originals for purchase because I intend to find a gallery at some point to show them. However, I will be offering prints in my etsy shop. Stay tuned!

Feelin the love…

Somedays it feels like everything and everyone is against you. Other days it feels like the universe is in complete alliance with you. Today is one of the later mentioned days.

First, I finally had a much needed sale in my esty shop this morning! Second, through my blog stat counter I found out that I was featured on this blog by artist Jessica Gonacha. She had some really nice things to say about my art and honestly to read such kind words from a peer is one of the best compliments. It also doesn’t hurt that I think she’s got some pretty great stuff as well, check out her etsy shop.

I wish I knew.

This is a snippet of a painting that I’m working on. Not finished yet. The whole piece is roughly 20 x 25 in. but this is only the far right corner. I really like where it’s going and thought I’d share since I’ve been a bad blogger recently. I do have a good excuse though - my 15 month old son broke his leg. So I haven’t had much time to spend on things that aren’t a necessity.
